COMPUTER LITERACY PROGRAM The rate of unemployment in Azad Kashmir is 20 to 50percent and this is just due primarily to the lack of computer skills, so after completing the advance courses in this institute they can get good opportunities for jobs. Kashmir Charitable Trust (KCT) would welcome any one who would be interested to participate in its activities to achieve its objectives, or make regular donations to carry out future projects.
AIMS To provide the skills and training needed to enable the unemployed youth of Muzaffarabad to find suitable work. OBJECTIVES · To establish a computer literacy center in Muzaffarabad for the effectives · To train young people in IT skills including Office tools, Computer Troubleshooting (Hardware & Software), Web Designing and Computer Language. · To assist trainees to look for jobs on completion of their training. · To establish software library, for the use of all IT users in the disaster area.
CONTEXT The education system in AJK was very systematic, with a high literacy rate of 78%. The competition was very high as education was a high priority for parents. After the Earthquake, when Govt. transferred the majority of their education departments from Muzaffarabad to Islamabad, many of the poorer students, i.e. those who did not have the resources to travel or to pay for hostel accommodation in Islamabad, were forced to discontinue their studies. In the private sector there were seven institutes working before the Earthquake, five institutes were very demolished, the other two institutes has been transferred to Islamabad
METHODOLOGY First, we find and set up a suitable venue for the computer Institute. We select a qualified trainer for the trainees. Within one month, we will train a maximum of 20 students in basic of computer skills We are upgrading our institute to the level of Islamabad and Lahore so that we provide same level of education for youth of Kashmir to study while living in their homes
